Atletico tries to persuade Tottenham star target of European clubs
Atlético Madrid will try to recruit Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen when the transfer window reopens in January next year.
Danish player Christian Eriksen has entered the last year of his contract and has not yet signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur. The Daily Mail claims that they have rejected the 200,000-pound-a-week deal offered by The Lilywhites.
Eriksen has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Manchester United with Don Ballon claiming that Los Blancos is willing to pay 84 million euros (1.3 billion rupees) to get his autograph.
The Red Devils are still linked to attacking midfielder Tottenham and The Sun said they would try to sign him in January. The Inter Serie A giants in Milan are also interested in recruiting Eriksen in the same exchange. This was stated by Express.
Now, Atletico Madrid has also entered the competition to bring Danish players. According to Spanish media, AS, which also stated that Juventus and PSG were also interested.
Eriksen has proven to be one of the best attacking midfielders in the world through his performance for The Lilywhites and there is no doubt, many teams are interested in recruiting him. However, Spurs will certainly prefer to have it for a while or sell it in January than in June, when they won't get anything after taking it off.
The Danish national team player has appeared in all Tottenham matches, scoring against Arsenal last weekend. He is currently in international service and will appear for Denmark in the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.
