Kante's injury came in the second week of the Premier League match against Leicester City. Whereas before, he had just recovered and appeared in a match against Liverpool in the European Super Cup.

"He is in a transition period and we are trying to bring Kante back to the field. He has been doing physical training but this fight came too early for him," he continued.
But there is an optimistic tone that is reassuring that the former Leicester City employee will soon recover in the near future. There is still one last step that must be passed and Lampard was reluctant to rush down.

"I don't want to be in a hurry because we are waiting for the development of the final step to take him to the place where we want him to be on the field," he added.
"Hopefully it can happen around next week, and again, with Rudiger, Willian, Calum and Ruben [Loftus-Cheek]. They are big players who will raise our level because they will compete to play," he said.

If according to plan, then Kante can return to combat when Chelsea meet Liverpool in the Premier League continued matches. This could be a place for revenge for the painful defeat of the European Super Cup stage last August.
