Spain national team likely to be defended by Barcelona Young Stars
The Spanish national team deserves to be happy after Barcelona star Ansu Fati claims to defend Furia Roja and not Portugal.
Everyone would want Ansu Fati - a young star who began to shine at Camp Nou. But, this does not seem surprising, when he revealed his decision regarding the national team to be defended.
Breakthroughs made by 16-year-old players in Barcelona's main squad attracted the attention of many people on the talented striker. Even though he was promoted to Team B, Ansu did not make his debut for them this season.
However, Ansu instead had a direct impact on the senior team. Spain also showed interest in him through the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). But Spain is well aware that this player also has the right to represent Portugal. Now the decision is in the hands of players who have received exorbitant praise from superstar Lionel Messi.
"I want to play for the Spanish national team," Ansu said without hesitation, and never doubted his choice.
Sports revealed, his family moved to Spain when he was only six years old. He already feels like a part of Spain and wants to play with his friends at the international level.
Ansu first announced his decision at Barca. Guillermo Amor, who is now in charge of Barcelona's youth training, immediately notifies RFEF about his star's decision.
To represent Spain, Ansu must first obtain Spanish citizenship. The first step, his father claimed a Spanish passport after living in the country for the specified period. Then, RFEF helps speed up this process.
Yes, the federation will definitely try to speed up the judicial process of Ansu Fati to defend the Spanish national team. Because, from October 26 to November 17 2019, the U-17 World Cup will be held in Brazil.
Spain certainly wants Ansu available, as well as other Barca players; Jose Martínez and Ilaix Moriba. Pedri, currently on loan at Las Palmas, will also be part of the La Roja youth team at the event.
The three will travel to Qatar to play on September 14-16, although it is still too early to see how Ansu reacts, but the aim is to make it available for the tournament.
Spain certainly must fight. Because the Portuguese who went to get the services of Ansu to defend his youth team.
He obtained a Portuguese passport in his home country, Guinea-Bissau, a former Portuguese colony, and his father worked in a neighboring country.
Portugal told Ansu and his father that they would do everything in their power to make Ansu the latest addition to the national team.
