Rafael Nadal sees the last 16 of the US Open

Rafael Nadal has passed the fourth round of the 2019 US Open smoothly. Without losing the set, the second seed struck Hyeon Chung

By facing Chung at the National Tennis Center Billie Jean King, USTA, Sunday (9/1/2019) at WIB in the third round of the US Open, Nadal started with a 6-3 victory in the first set. The Spaniard did not give up the urge to win 6-4 and 6-2 in the next set, completing the match in less than two hours.

These results extend his record against Chung. He has been defeated three times and has never lost all of his opponents.

"I am happy to be back in the fourth round, this field is truly unique and special thanks to the energy carried by the audience," Nadal said after the match, as reported by ATPTour.

Chung admitted that Nadal was tough, but he was rather happy to be back after a back injury. He did not return until last July after disappearing since February.

"It's always difficult to face one of the best tennis players in the world, but I'm just trying to do my best, today is not my day, but I am very happy to be able to play in New York after my injury," he said.

Nadal will then face Marin Cilic. Cilic escaped after the host tennis player John Isner was frustrated in a battle of four sets 7-5, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.

Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev also continued his journey until the fourth round. The sixth seed is Algeria Bedene 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 and 7-6. Zverev will meet Diego Schwartzman from Argentina at the next party.
