Quartararo Not Ready to Become a MotoGP World Champion
Petronas Yamaha SRT Team Manager, Wilco Zeelenberg, said his team was only aiming for victory in the MotoGP event next season. As a completely new team, Zeelenberg claimed he did not want to aim at grandiose targets.
In its debut season in MotoGP, the Yamaha satellite team was able to break the competition at the top. Through his driver Fabio Quartararo, Petronas Yamaha SRT has achieved a brilliant achievement in MotoGP this season.
This is certainly very surprising. Not only is Petronas Yamaha SRT a new team, but also Quartararo who is a MotoGP rookie driver this season. However, Quartararo's slick performance was achieved by winning the podium twice and taking pole position three times.
However, that did not make Zeelenberg feel empowered and set high targets to reach the world championship title. According to him it was still difficult and said Quartararo was not ready for it. Now, his only wish is that his drivers (including Franco Morbidelli) can win.
"In the future, we want to win as soon as possible. We are a junior team because it will be very difficult to aim for world titles, but I want to win the race, which every driver and every team wants to do, "said Zeelenberg, quoting from Motorsport-Total,
"But fighting with the manufacturing teams is not that easy. Fabio is not ready and in the future he might win the race, it all depends on Marc, whether he gets into trouble or not
