Player Eden Hazard from Europa League 2018/2019

Monaco - Eden Hazard was voted the best player of the year by Europa League 2018/2019. He received this award after playing a key role in Chelsea's European League victory.

The announcement was made during the 2019/2020 European League group stage at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco, Friday (8/30/2019). Hazard was chosen as European Footballer of the Year 2018/2019 ahead of Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic.

Hazard was instrumental in Chelsea's success as European League champions last season. The player who has joined Madrid now has scored two goals and contributed a pass for the Blues.

Thanks to his contribution, Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-1 in the last match in Baku last May. Hazard was also chosen as the best player in the match.

Hazard was chosen as the Player of the Year in the Europa League in 2018 with the votes of 48 club coaches from the group stage last season and 55 journalists from European Sports Media (ESM).

Hazard became the third player to win the European League award this year. In the previous two seasons, this prize was won by Paul Pogba (2016/2017) and Antoine Griezmann (2017/2018).
