Owen: Wrong Selfishness Will Not Disrupt Liverpool
Liverpool legend, Michael Owen, considers that the selfishness of Mohamed Salah does not cause problems. According to him, that's normal in football.
"When you see three Liverpool strikers, you have Roberto Firmino, who is probably the most unselfish player in the world, who will provide assistance to anyone," Owen told Soccerway.
"At the other end of the spectrum, you have Salah, who focuses only on goal scorers, then you have Sadio Mane, who sits between the two, likes to score goals and is selfish when he needs to, but he is also very generous in his work."
"I don't think that will be a long-standing problem at Liverpool - when Salah gets the ball, he might be more aware that he has to send a pass."
Previously, Mane was filmed with anger when the Reds beat Burnley 3-0 in the fourth week of the 2019-2020 English League season.
One of the causes of Mane's anger is false selfishness. In the match, Mane is well placed and asks Salah for the ball. However, the Egyptian player did not give it.
"If Salah attends Mane, I think the previous problem will be forgotten, but these players play at a very high level and small things can happen. It's OK" These things happen all the time in every locker room, you you still debating, "Owen said.
Liverpool itself is now at the top of the English league table. The Reds have 12 points in four matches.
