Owen advised the young city to rise immediately
Former England striker Michael Owen advised Phil Foden to immediately leave Manchester City on loan to give him enough time to play. The former Stoke City player also suggested that Foden not choose too many clubs to maintain.
So far, the original product from Man City Academy has just prepared a pair of matches. He even recorded only 11 minutes of playing at the start of the season. Owen regretted that Foden's talent would be lost if he insisted on playing for Man City.
"I don't think he has to be a difficult person (about the club's goals). Go ahead and play," Owen told Talksports.
"After that, [he will learn] how to win, how to please the fans and how to play well when it's not your best day," he added.
Foden itself is a valuable asset for City. He has also signed a long-term contract with Sky Blues. Even in relation to the importance of Foden, Pep Guardiola, as a City interpreter tactic, never said whether Foden was the best talent he had ever met.
Even so, Pep does not want to give his son a guarantee of playing regularly every week. Because the city team itself is now filled with a series of big names. Owen also accepted the difficulties of his junior situation.
"He currently practices every day with some of the biggest players on the planet and with Pep Guardiola, but nothing makes him mature professionally, while borrowing from other clubs can help him become a separate player overall," concluded Owen.
