Noble Mission Per Mertesacker Emban New Task at Arsenal

German defender Per Mertesacker has a noble mission for young players working at the London Cannon academy team on Thursday (9/9/2019), for a new mission at Arsenal.

As director of the Arsenal Academy, Mertesacker is not limited to educating and printing young players. He wants young people at the Arsenal Academy to have more lives later.

"I want to have an impact on the lives of young people here, they are part of the future of our football, football has taught me a lot, I want to use it for these children," Mertesacker said, quoted by The Guardian. .

Mertesacker added that it was not easy for him to manage the Arsenal Academy. He will face many challenges, but Mertesacker believes this can be overcome.

"I have a different background, I grew up in a small town in Germany, now I am in London and I work with 180 children who think they can succeed in football," he said.

"It will be a challenge, so how can I manage it by being myself and never lying to them," he added.

The most important thing Mertesacker said was that parents who have children at a football academy must think that they should not expect their children to succeed in football.

"If a family thinks football is the only thing that can make you alive, it will be very difficult to continue," Per Mertesacker concluded.
