Mourinho: Lampard has everything to succeed at Chelsea
Madrid - Jose Mourinho says Frank Lampard can succeed with Chelsea. Lampard's experience during the game will help him.
Lampard was surprisingly appointed as director of Chelsea last July. Previously, Lampard only had one season's experience in Derby County. He brought the club nicknamed the Rams to finish sixth in the Championship division, the second tier of English football.
Lampard's debut with Chelsea is far from satisfying. In the first four Premier League matches, the Blues have only won once and are now blocked in 11th place with 5 points. Plus, Chelsea are never clean
Despite his status as a club legend, Lampard's performance began to be highlighted. But Mourinho was apparently not worried about Chelsea's negative trends at the start of the season. He called former foster children could bring Chelsea to success.
"Being a player and manager are two different things, and as a player, every Chelsea fan will agree if I mention that Lampard is one of the top five players in Chelsea history, some might say of the top three," Mourinho said.
"As a manager, during his one year at Derby, he has shown good quality and now coaches Chelsea," he continued.
"He is always there for big things, he plays in the Champions League, in the European Super Cup, he plays some big games and he has to evolve with his level of experience, I'm sure he can. Lampard has a lot of experience."
"I cannot forget the fact that football has always existed in his life, he is the son of a soccer player, being the nephew of a football coach (Harry Redknapp), he became the first player to plan ... I think he has all the conditions to succeed," concluded Mourinho.
