Manchester United wants to appoint Edwin van der Sar, CEO of Ajax Amsterdam, director of football. As reported by The Mirror on Monday (09/09/2019), Man United was tempted by the appearance of Van der Sar for three seasons as CEO of Ajax.

Since Van der Sar took over as CEO of Ajax in 2016, the achievements of Die Amsterdammers - a Dutch nickname - have jumped. The most extraordinary achievement was presented last season. Dusan Tadic and his friends have won two titles, namely the Dutch League and the Dutch Cup.

Do not stop there, Ajax concoction by Erik Ten Hag also qualified for the 2018-2019 Champions League semifinals, before losing dramatically against Tottenham Hotspur. In his role, Van der Sar is responsible for all the achievements Ajax has received, both on and off the field.

For this reason, Man United, who have seen a decline in performance since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure in 2013, want to make the director of Dutch football. One of Van der Sar's tasks is to deal with transfer issues

At Ajax, the transfer issue is actually under the control of sports director Marc Overmars. However, Van der Sar also provided information to Overmars. As a result, Ajax often offers cheap players, but sells them at fantastic prices.

Indeed, during the defense of the Ajax banner, the player's skill has improved greatly. This is what Man United expects to be reproduced later with Van der Sar.
