Lukaku Affirms Not Want to Return to England
Romelu Lukaku has a brilliant career in England. However, the new Inter Milan bomber said he did not want to return to British soil.
Lukaku himself was recorded as having defended four English clubs. He began his career in England with Chelsea, on loan at West Bromwich Albion, before moving to Everton before Manchester United's last uniform.
Belgium striker's performance in England is quite clear. Of his 217 appearances in the Premier League, Lukaku managed to record a total of 96 goals.
But with MU, he got the spotlight. His name is not comparable to the transfer value and the big name of the club that he maintains. He made a big step by joining Inter Milan last summer.
Seeing that he was still 27, he did not rule out the possibility of returning to England in his mind. But this was immediately denied by Lukaku.
"[Inter] this can be the team I need to develop, there is love in this city, the love I have for Inter, and this is the best time for me to go." England, maybe forever, I don't want to play there anymore "Lukaku told ESPN.
"The group of players we have here is a special group, and we are led by the right people in front of us to get us to the right place."
Lukaku is also very optimistic at Inter. He saw if Inter had big ambitions to be able to achieve something at the end of the season.
"Inter are an ambitious club, a team that always wants to go where they need to be, I want to help them build something here, it is the best decision for me to move here," Lukaku said.
"They embraced me, and I did too. I felt I had been part of this team for months, and it was important for me to be able to meet with teammates."
Lukaku himself looks very neat at Inter. Lukaku scored twice and led the team to the top of the Serie A.
