Llorente is ready to help Napoli overthrow Juventus

Fernando Llorente brings big ambitions to his new club, Napoli. The Spanish striker said he wanted to end the dominance of his former club, Juventus, in national competitions, including Serie A.

Llorente has won the Serie A championship trophy twice while still in uniform at Juventus from 2013 to 2015. Together with the club dubbed the Bianconeri, he has recorded 23 appearances and has scored 23 goals.

After Turin, Llorente went to other clubs such as Seville, Swansea City, to play with Tottenham Hotspur until last season. We can say that his performance has declined far from time, strengthening the first Juventus.

His contract with Tottenham ended last June. After waiting for so long and being haunted by rumors about his future, the 34-year-old man finally chose to join Naples.

"As I said, I am confident and think we can have a good season, Juventus have a habit of winning, but Napoli are their closest rival," Llorente said in his inaugural presentation, as quoted. by Italian Football.

Llorente also stressed that the pressure to win the Scudetto was not on Napoli. All the pressure is on Maurizio Sarri's club.

"We have to believe, but without feeling pressured, all the pressure is on Juventus, we have to stay there and we can win [Scudetto]," he added.

"Looking at Napoli from the outside, I think this is an extraordinary team and at the highest level," said the man who also defended Athletic Bilbao.

Unfortunately, Llorente did not have the opportunity to help his new team when they met Juventus in the second week of Serie A recently. Napoli must accept its defeat after a goal against his camp, Kalidou Koulibaly at the last minute, changing position to 3-4.
