Liverpool and Everton are both aiming for Wigan attackers

Liverpool and the Everton club from Merseyside are interested in Wigan Athletic striker Joe Gelhardt.

This young player is only 17 years old and is still under contract until 2021 at the Championship club. Apparently, the two Premier League clubs also only smelled the scent of players called up for the England U18 national team before the international break.

Despite his young age, Gelhardt has shown that he plays in the senior team with Wigan. He made his debut in a match against Rotherham in the League Cup last season, even when he was only 16 years old. It must have been a proud moment for Gelhardt, who has been at the Latics since he was 10 years old.

This young player also competed in the Championship when he debuted in the league last season. At that time, Gelhardt played from the bench at home to Birmingham last April.


Liverpool's shot even appeared in the league this season, the most this weekend when he played against Barnsley at DW Stadium, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Gelhardt scored for the England Under-16 national team when they tied 3-3 against Brazil in the Montaigu Tournament in 2018. In September 2018, Gelhardt then scored two goals for the England Under-17 team in a match against Norway, and played from the bench reserve to score a goal when they face Belgium.

The following month, Gelhardt scored again for the Under-17 national team in a match against the United States and two other goals in a match against Russia.

Without stopping there, Liverpool's goal was reprinted when England won 3-2 over Denmark in March 2019, which made England advance in qualification for the 2019 U17 European Championship.
