Lionel Messi Challenged by Quintero and Zsori

Lionel Messi was among the top three candidates for the 2019 Puskas Awards. Despite being a nominee repeatedly, he had never won the best goal award.

Puskas Award was first held by FIFA in 2009 and Cristiano Ronaldo won it in that first edition. Now the Puskas Awards will enter the 11th edition.

The top three best goals have been selected by the FIFA panel, from which there were 10 nominations. The three goals were made by Lionel Messi, Juan Fernando Quintero, and Daniel Zsori.
