Kompany Akui Van Dijk, the best defender of all time for EPL

Former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has selected Liverpool player Virgil Van Dijk as the best Premier League defender of all time.
Van Dijk began his career in England in 2015. He left Scotland to move from Glasgow Celtic Club to Southampton.

He later became the target of clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester City. Finally, he moved to Liverpool in 2018.
After settling in Liverpool, Van Dijk's class began to emerge. The Dutch defender is able to provide an instant effect on the defense of the Reds.

He was also able to improve Liverpool's performance. In the end, he was able to present the UEFA Champions League trophy and the UEFA Super Cup to Jurgen Klopp's team.

During its history, many great defenders worked in the Premier League. From John Terry, Jaap Stam, Rio Ferdinand, Sami Hyypia, to Nemanja Vidic.
Kompany has also worked in the UK for 11 years. But he finally chose Van Dijk as the best defender in the history of the competition. Because he doesn't see any defender who can replace the team like the 28-year-old defender.

"I will take him back to Virgil van Dijk, he was not part of this league for Terry Ferdinand, who has been around for a long time, but he has shown signs in recent years," he said.
"He showed that if he stayed longer [at the EPL], he would remain at the top for a long time, Liverpool before Van Dijk and then a completely different team, and I would congratulate him for that," Kompany explained.

Previously, Van Dijk was happy to be able to register his name in Liverpool history books. He also hopes to continue to do so with the Reds.
"I won part of the story by winning the Champions League and I hope we can continue to write stories," he said.

"I just want to be remembered as a fantastic player who gives everything to the team and respects every element," Van Dijk said.
Vincent Kompany has now left Manchester City and settled in Anderlecht, Belgium. Meanwhile, Virgil Van Dijk is under contract with Liverpool until 2023.
