Klopp Affirms Liverpool Still Need Quality Shaqiri

Shaqiri only appeared twice for the Reds this season when he appeared in the second round of the FA Community Shield against Manchester City at Wembley and the match against Burnley on Saturday (31/08). Shaqiri came into play in the 85th minute to replace Roberto Firmino when Liverpool won 3-0 over Burnley.

"I practice well, that's the situation," Klopp told liverpoolfc.com.

"This is the first four weeks of the season, that's how it is. That was probably the most difficult period for players who didn't play."

"In training, I don't need to improve in any way if he can maintain the level he is doing right now."

"Of course he can improve his game like how everyone can improve their game, but this is not about that - he doesn't have to show anything special."

"We will need it, he knows it's 100 percent."

After showing off his abilities and professional attitude every day at Melwood, Klopp believes Shaqiri is ready to play if needed.

Klopp continued: "Is he the happiest player in the squad? I don't think so. Did I see that on the training ground? Not yet."

"He is in a good mood, is training hard, doing what he has to do and is ready when he has to help the team on the field."
