Ramos: Van Dijk deserves to win the Golden Ball

Virgil van Dijk has been named the 2019 Golden Ball champion. Sergio Ramos helped his team mates to win the title.
Van Dijk is the Ballon d'Or champion. He played a major role in helping Liverpool win the Champions League last season and led the team to the Premier League title.

The Dutch international defender must compete with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are some of the names that will bring life to life.
Van Dijk was previously a European football player in 2018/2019. He followed Messi and Ronaldo who became finalists.

"If Van Dijk wins, it is appropriate, but as a defender, it is more difficult to reach," Ramos told Marca.

"But now, it seems that not only Messi and Cristiano (who are defended), there seems to be an open way for other players," added the Real Madrid captain.
Last year, the Ballon d'Or title was won by teammate Luka Modric. Modric defeated Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann.
