Foden: Play me, Pep!

Foden: Play me, Pep!

Phil Foden hasn't had enough opportunities to play Manchester City this season. He hoped Pep Guardiola would trust him more.

Foden only appeared in the first four weeks of the Premier League this season. He only played 10 minutes in the first week, when City won 5-0 against West Ham United.

In the remaining three matches, the 19-year-old midfielder has just heated up the bench. Although he is considered one of the best talents of the Citizens' Academy, he is projected to be David Silva's successor.

Silva himself has made sure to leave City at the end of this season.

"Pep has his own opinions and I still hold my point of view. I only know that I am ready to play," Marca said.

"I feel ready. I try to show it every day in training," added the England Under-21 player.

Foden performed well by bringing the England U21 national team to a 3-2 win over Turkey in the 2121 U21 European Cup Qualifiers. He made two assists in the game and did not deny the hope that Pep could witness his performance in the game.

"It would be good for Pep to watch the match against Turkey. But maybe he relaxed a little golfing or something else. He wouldn't blame him anyway," he said with a small joke.
