European Cup Qualifiers: Goal Rain, England Defeat Kosovo 5-3
Southampton - Countless goals created in qualifying matches for the 2020 European Cup between England and Kosovo. The Three Lions came out as winners with a final score of 5-3.
The England vs Kosovo match will take place in St. Mary's, Southampton, Tuesday (11/09/2019), early morning. England won 5-1 in the first round.
England goals were scored by Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Jadon Sancho (two goals) and goals by Mergim Vojvoda. Kosovo was only able to score one goal between the legs of Valon Berisha.
In the second half, Kosovo reduced the situation with two penalty goals from Berisha and Vedat Muriqi.
These results put England firmly on top of the standings with 12 points, while Kosovo is ranked third with 8 points.
Game
The first minute, England must concede through the first pass. Velon Berisha scored after utilizing a poor pass from Michael Keane.
In a disadvantage, Britain immediately launched an attack on Kosovo's goals. The Three Lions were also tied in the eighth minute with Raheem Sterling's header.
Gareth Southgate's team went ahead thanks to Harry Kane's legs in the 19th minute. The England national team captain hit the ball in the goal after receiving feedback from Sterling.
England added advantage in the 38th minute, after defender Mérgim Vojvoda misplaced Jadon Sancho's pass and scored the ball for his own team. The score went from 3-1 to the superiority of the Three Lions.
Jadon Sancho scored his name on the scoreboard after scoring in the 43rd minute. England won 4-1.
Sancho scored again in extra time in the first half. He managed to use the Sterling throwing ball which was countered by the goalkeeper before hitting his second goal in the match.
The score went up to 5-1 for England superiority. This result lasted until part time.
After a pause, Kosovo immediately tried to catch up. Velon Berisha scored his second goal in the 49th minute.
This goal stems from Kosovo's quick counterattack, having taken advantage of the England midfielder's negligence. The score is 5-2.
England defender Harry Maguire, in the 54th minute, violated Vedat Muriqi in the penalty box. As a result, Kosovo was awarded the 12th free kick by the referee.
Muriqi who advanced as executor managed to break into Jordan Pickford's goal. Kosovo has reduced the situation to 5-3.
England had the chance to add points to the spot, after Ross Barkley was fouled in the penalty area in the 63rd minute. Harry Kane who advanced as a player failed to score a goal, after the kick can be trained goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.
Sterling had a golden opportunity in the 72nd minute after receiving a pass from Kane. But the ball still hit the Kosovo goalpost.
Until the end of the second half, the score 5-3 remained.
