Cesc Fabregas: There will be no new Lionel Messi
AS Monaco's Cesc Fabregas expressed his admiration for Lionel Messi. He considered there would be no players who could become the new Messi in the future.
Fabregas never get a chance to play with Messi. He had three years to defend Barcelona before moving to Chelsea.
While working with Messi, Barcelona won many prestigious trophies. The player also won two Ballon d'Or trophies while Fabregas was still in Barcelona.
Fabregas believes that no player can match Messi in the future. "I think finding a new Messi is impossible," Fabregas explained to the United States.
Fabregas admitted that he was really surprised to see Messi playing up close. He believes no player can match the performance shown by the turtle.
"We have seen great players like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. But Messi has been the world's best player for 15 years. He has been in professional football for 17 years and he has been the best player since he was 18 years old."
"I have seen many things that you will not believe. Every three days he always scores goals. He was hit by jet lag when returning from the Argentine national team, but he managed to make a hat trick. Believe me that it is not normal."
Fabregas admitted that he really enjoyed the opportunity to play with Messi. But he considered he was not lucky to have a long collaboration with the legendary player.
"I actually wanted to play longer with Leo. I was actually fortunate enough to be able to play with a player like him."
"In my inaugural season, I managed to create good cooperation with him. But the next two seasons I continued to suffer injuries. I was not able to bring out my best and it affected everyone including Leo.
