Witten scores for Cowboys in first match since '17

Texas - In his first game with the Dallas Cowboys since 2017, forward Jason Witten has done what he normally does against the New York Giants: a touchdown.
Witten won a 4-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott with 10:19 left in the second quarter to give the Cowboys a 14-7 lead on the way to a 35-17 win. He finished with three receptions for 15 yards.

Witten has a touchdown in three consecutive games against New York.

Witten, 37, had more touchdowns (15) against the Giants than any other enemy, with 154 receptions for 1,568 yards in 30 games. It was Witten's first touchdown since the December 20, 2017 match against the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Witten, who retired after the 2017 season and spent the 2018 season as a Monday Night Football analyst before returning to the Cowboys this season, took his first shot in the first quarter, scoring 6 yards on a pass from Prescott. 28-yard save from Witten, Blake Jarwin.

Witten's TD reception was the 69th of his career, placing him at the top of another list in Cowboy history. Dez Bryant is the leader of all time with 73 touchdowns. The Hall of Fame, Bob Hayes, is No. 2 with 71.

Witten is already the franchise leader in terms of service time (16 years), games, games played, consecutive games, receptions and receptions.
