Tottenham Should Have Been Smarter at the Emirates
Losing the potential of winning three points at Arsenal headquarters is unfortunate by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli. Alli rate his team playing less mature.
Tottenham had a 2-0 lead when they travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (01/09/2019) evening hrs. Goals from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane put Lilywhites ahead.
But then Arsenal narrowed the difference before halftime through Alexandre Lacazette. Another goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the middle of the second half then evened the score to 2-2, which lasted until the fight was over.
After getting the first goal, Arsenal increased the intensity of attacks in the second half. They have the ball up to 60%, creating even more chances than the first half.
17 shots were recorded in this period, with five of them aiming at the goal. In the first half, the team made by Unai Emery had 11 trials, with three on target.
Alli rate Tottenham should be able to close the defense more, considering that Arsenal are expected to press in the second half. Though there is a large gap that can be used when the opponent attacks.
"Winning two goals, we must be more firm in defense and a little more mature in the game. We know with Arsenal getting a goal before the break, they will come out and pursue the second goal, which creates space for us to strike back," Alli was quoted as saying by Sky Sports .
