The safety of the New MotoGP Safety Car

The BMW M8 has been introduced to the public since last June. Now one of the models of the BMW sporty car line is trusted to safeguard safety in the MotoGP race. BMW M8 with a safety car style, lined up as one of the safety vehicles during the Austrian MotoGP series at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, last week.  From the exterior, the BMW M8 safety car looks dashing with BMW's blue and red graphics. The two colors are applied to the body of the BMW M8 which has a white base. In addition to the color changes, the BMW M8 has also been equipped with the M Performance Parts package, some of which are available for street-legal production cars and others specifically designed for safety cars.  The performance component package includes M8 GTE's rear wing or spoiler, titanium sport exhaust system, carbon fiber rear diffuser, new front splitter, roll cage, fire extinguisher, and floating hub cups. In addition there are also additional MotoGP livery to strengthen the identity of the safety car.  While in terms of engine, nothing has changed from this car. The BMW M8 MotoGP safety car is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which is capable of producing 625 hp.  The engine is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic M transmission with Drivelogic, which sends power to all four wheels via the All Wheel xDrive drive system.  "The BMW M8 and BMW M8 GTE were developed in parallel, and this racing gene distinguishes the BMW M8 model in all areas," BMW M President Markus Flasch said, on BMW's official website.  "That is why this is a logical step for us to choose the BMW M8 as our new MotoGP safety car. With the BMW M8 MotoGP Safety Car, we are really excited to bring a strong and new 'leader' car for top-class motor racing," said Markus .
