Oliver Kahn became the CEO of Bayern from 2022

Munich - Oliver Kahn will return to Bayern Munich in management. The former German guardian will become CEO from 2022.

Kahn was unanimously elected at a meeting of Bayern officials on Thursday (29/08/2019). The 50-year-old man signed a five-year contract effective January 1, 2020.

Kahn will replace Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as CEO and President. Rummenigge's contract with Bayern expires on December 31, 2021.

"It is truly a great honor to take the role of President of Bayern Munich and I want to thank the council for its trust," Kahn was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"I am very connected with the club that shaped my life," he said.

When active, Kahn strengthened Bayern in 1994-2008. He has performed 632 times in all competitions with Bayern, winning eight Bundesliga titles and one Champions League championship.
