Official to Rome
AS Roma officially gets Nikola Kalinic from Atletico Madrid. He became the ninth recruit of Giallorossi in the transfer market this summer.
Kalinic's transfer was announced by Roma through their official website. He was brought in by Il Luppi as a loan player for one season until June 2020.
Rome must spend 2 million euros (31 billion rupiah) to borrow 31 players this year. In the loan contract, they also have the option to permanent Kalinic with a transfer value of 9 million euros (Rp 140 billion).
Kalinic feels proud to be joining the Capital Wolf. According to him, Rome is a big team that has a long history.
"It feels amazing, because I joined a big club," Kalinic was quoted as saying on the official Rome website.
"I am proud to be part of this team and club. Rome has a long history and I am very happy to be here," he explained.
Serie A itself is not a foreign league for Kalinic. He previously defended Fiorentina and AC Milan in the range of 2017 to 2018.
Together with the two clubs, he recorded 100 appearances in Serie A with a score of 33 goals. Last season, Kalinic decided to move to Atletico.
But in this Spanish capital club, Kalinic failed to look slick. He only scored four goals in 24 matches with Los Rojiblancos.
Kalinic became Rome's ninth record in the transfer market this summer. Previously, they have brought Davide Zappacosta, Gianluca Mancini, Jordan Vertout, Chris Smalling, Mert Cetin, Amadou Diawara, Pau Lopez and Leonardo Spinnazolla.
