Having no victory over Watford, Arsenal are labeled as a semi-professional team
Arsenal's failure at the Watford meeting forced Graeme Souness to give the Unai Emery team a semi-professional status.

Arsenal play in their fifth Premier League match at home against Watford, Vicarage Road on Sunday (9/15/2019). This match ended with a score of 2-2.

Initially, Arsenal had a good start. They were able to lead two goals in the first round.

All goals were met by star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Watford responded in the second half thanks to goals from Tom Cleverley and Roberto Pereyra.

Souness's scathing criticism

Arsenal have now conceded seven goals in their last three matches and many of them have come back from mistakes. Souness did not hesitate to evaluate the Gunners.

"They left in the second round, Arsenal, and they didn't win the fight for the ball," he told Sky Sports.

"If you are an Arsenal fan watching this, you will be scratching your head, they are two different teams, as if it was the first team in the first round and the second after the break. Don't play like that," he criticized.

"Arsenal in the second half were like a semi-professional team that played football, I mean, they didn't learn from the mistakes they made on many occasions," said the Liverpool legend.

A powerful decision

In addition, Souness highlighted Unai Emery's decision to change players. He wondered why he put Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson instead when he led 2-1 in the second round.

"They include players who are still children, it is a game where, when the score is 2-1, it's time to dig and regroup, making sure not to lose this game, and they have to lose it" he exclaimed.

"When these young people enter the field, they play irregularly, like being an Arsenal fan, it will be very, very disturbing for you," Souness said.

Two goals scored in the Arsenal goal came from the mistakes of their two central defenders. The first is Sokratis Papastathopoulos, because his allure of Matteo Guendouzi was stolen by Gerard Deulofeu and the second was Roberto Pereyra's offense by David Luiz, which resulted in a penalty for Watford.
