Victory over Bulgaria pushed Harry Kane to the top of Group A with nine points in three. However, they have won three wins against teams of below average English quality, such as Montenegro, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
"We didn't play on high-risk nights, as happened in the UEFA League of Nations competition some time ago, and we learned a lot from tight matches at the event," Gareth Southgate said.
"So we have enough homework to do immediately, we will continue to increase training intensity to match the level of play in the League of Nations and try to maximize the potential of players," Southgate said.
Next week, the Three Lions will return for the 2020 European Cup qualifiers. They will welcome the dark horse team, Kosovo, to Wembley on September 11.
A month later, they will play two more nights. They will visit the Czech Republic headquarters on October 12. Three days later, it was the turn of the Bulgarian headquarters that made Harry Kane cs.
