For Pellegrini, Sebastien Haller is more than a striker

Manuel Pellegrini praised Sebastien Haller as a player more than a striker and praised the work ethic of the goalscorer when West Ham won 2-0 over Norwich.
Haller scored twice in the Hammers victory at Watford last weekend and had to wait until the 24th minute to score another goal to put his side ahead at the London Stadium against Norwich.

Manuel Pellegrini praised Sebastien Haller as a player more than a striker and praised the work ethic of the goalscorer when West Ham won 2-0 over Norwich.

The hosts continued to dominate in the second half when Andriy Yarmolenko scored his first goal since September 2018, when his volley past Team Krul to give his team the first home win of the season and the third consecutive win in all competitions.

Pellegrini said: "I think Sebastien is not just a striker, you look at his performances and today, he always works, supporting the back line to prepare combinations with midfield players and not just the players who score goals."

"But a striker always needs goals and goals for him are very important and he's just starting all this."

"This is a new league for him, but I think in every game, he will continue to improve."

When asked about Yarmolenko, the Chilean manager said: "For Andriy, this is also a player who has a lot of goals in his career, (I'm) happy for him because he deserves this happiness after a long time (injury) but he never complained, he worked hard and managed to recover. "
