Florentino Perez Admits Madrid Failed on the Transfer Market

President of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez said if Real Madrid failed in the summer transfer market. Los Blancos failed to recruit Paul Pogba and Robert Lewandowski. United and Bayern are reluctant to release these players because they have a vital role in each team.

In the last few seasons, Lewandowski has indeed become the target of Real Madrid. Bayern's goal machine is considered suitable to play in the Spanish Capital team in order to increase explosive power on the front lines. While Paul Pogba himself failed to come because Madrid's bid was still far from the price that had been set by United.

Related to the failure of Madrid to land the two names, Florentino Perez also opened his voice. "They are players who are not sold by his club," Perez told reporters, as quoted by Goal International. "We have been chasing Lewandowski for the past few years but nothing happened because they [Bayern] didn't want to let it go and he [Lewandowski] didn't have a release clause."

However, Perez assessed Madrid's new recruits in the summer market could improve the achievements of the club that held a title last season. He also rejected the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo as the cause of Real Madrid's failure.

"The problem that happened last season was not because of one player, but because of a team mentality problem. We have nine Ballon nominees and this team has a value of € 1.2 billion, "he added.
