Emery Highlights Mistakes, but Also Praises Arsenal's Response

Arsenal's response after two goals behind Tottenham Hotspur was praised by Unai Emery. But the manager also highlights his team's mistakes.

Arsenal had two goals behind when entertaining Tottenham in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (09/01/2019) night local time, after breaking into Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane. The Gunners came back through goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Conceding two goals in the first half, Arsenal rose in the second half and controlled the game more. In the second 45 minutes they held 60% possession, compared to only 51% in the first half.

Emery believes Arsenal should be able to add goals, not just score even though he is quite satisfied with the team's response.

"Obviously after two goals behind we can be very proud of our response and the atmosphere we created, how supporters encourage us to return to the game after scoring goals, get a second goal, then have a chance to score a third goal," Emery said on the official website club.

"Above all, the result, we deserve more. Also, we control the second half better than the first half," he added.
