Dortmund Meet Barcelona, Alcacer: Messi Don't Hurry Up Comeback

Borussia Dortmund will host Barcelona on Matchday 1 of the Champions League. Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer, hopes that Lionel Messi will not have to rush back.

The Argentine football superstar is recovering from a thigh injury, which he suffered ahead of the 2019/20 season. Messi is expected to make a comeback after the international break in the Spanish league match against Valencia on September 14, 2019.

Duel Dortmund vs Barcelona at Signal Iduna Park on September 17. This will be the club's first meeting since Barca beat Dortmund in the 1997 European Super Cup with a 3-1 aggregate.
Alcacer has played with Messi for two seasons at Barcelona. The lefty attacker will definitely make Barcelona much more dangerous, which means bad news for Die Borusssen.

"It would be better for us, for Valencia in the next league match, for opponents after us," Alcacer told Sport.

"Certainly Leo gave the team an added value that other players cannot do. I hope he waits for a few more days before a comeback," he said while joking.

Messi has scored 112 goals in the Champions League. Among the top five European leagues, Messi is the most keen to break into German clubs with a collection of 16 goals with an average of 70 minutes and 34 seconds per goal.
