Chelsea Prepare This Line-up After the International Pause
Chelsea will have a number of players recovering injured after the international break. Coach Frank Lampard is also preparing his new lineup composition this season.
Later, there will be FOUR players who will return to the start of the Blues XI in the match against Wolves on September 14. Previously, Lampard was forced to withdraw several players in the first four Premier League matches this season due to injury. But it was stated that everyone had recovered and could follow the Blues away from home to Molineux in the middle of this month.
Young defender Reece James, 19, seems ready to bring César Azpilicueta to debut with Lampard's team. James had a brilliant loan performance at Wigan last season, while Azpi was far below his best level, so he was often targeted by opposing players.
James previously suffered an ankle injury when he played for the England U-20 national team last June. But, said Lampard, the young player can debut after the international break next week.
Then, the Chelsea defense will also have another reinforcement, with Antonio Rudiger playing again after this month's international break. The 26-year-old German center back underwent knee surgery last April and the Blues were unable to compete in the Europa League final against Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Lampard is reportedly not impressed to see Kurt Zouma playing behind Andreas Christensen. And Rudiger, who has been training again, has a great opportunity to return to his position in the early XI of the Blues.
While the star in midfield, N'Golo Kante, must also be fit and be able to partner with Jorginho, who plays against Mateo Kovacic. The French star has only played in the first two Blues matches after he was injured again at the start of the season.
But after being released from the French team this month, the 28-year-old star seems ready to play again in the Blues midfield consisting of five players, in a match against Nuno's team Espirito Santo.
Finally, Callum Hudson-Odoi seems ready to fill the left wing after Chelsea release Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. He has suffered an Achilles injury which is quite serious and absent since last April. However, in the next fourth game, Hudson-Odoi might be ready to play again.
Loftus-Cheek still has to wait, next October
Unfortunately, Ruben Loftus-Cheek can only graze in October. Many feel that the 23-year-old midfielder will be a key player for the Blues this season. Like Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek also suffered an Achilles injury in a friendly match.
SunSport revealed, for the position of Loftus-Cheek, it seems that Lampard has not re-examined his troops. Because, with his ability to play in midfield or play number 10, Loftus-Cheek makes Jorginho and Christian Pulisic the most risky position. Meanwhile, the Blues also have a Mason Mount that can also be played on the wings.
Pedro has also missed the last match and must be fit enough to get a place on the bench in the match against Wolves. While Willian will be back in perfect condition after suffering an injury at the Copa América.
