Bielik claimed to have been approached by AC Milan
Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik claimed he had been approached by AC Milan last summer.The 21-year-old midfielder had previously strengthened He was recruited by the Gunners from Legia Warsaw in 2015.
But he did not get a chance to play in the first team. He was eventually loaned to Birmingham, Walsall and Charlton Athletic.
In the summer of 2019 yesterday, Bielik finally left Arsenal. He was recruited by Derby County for around seven million pounds.
But before he moved to Derby County, there was news that Milan was interested in his services. Rossoneri is said to be approaching Bielik by utilizing Ivan Gazidis.
Gazidis was previously the CEO of Arsenal. He has worked there since 2009 and finally accepted Milan's proposal in 2018.
Gazidis is also quite familiar with Bielik. He was the figure who brought the midfielder to the Emirates in 2015.
Bielik himself at that time was said to have stated his intention to leave Arsenal. Because before the Gunners said he still could not enter the main squad, at least for one more season.
That interest was not just gossip. Bielik confirmed that Milan did contact him last summer.
"I hope to get a chance with Unai Emery," he told Sportowe Fakty, as reported by Italian Football.
"On the contrary, I did not fit into his plans and so I had to leave," Bielik continued.
"Before the European Under-21 Championship, I received an offer from Milan. But then everything changed and nothing else was done."
