Without Mandzukic, this is Juventus squad for the 2019/20 Champions League

Juventus have announced the names of players who have been registered to play in the Champions League this season. Maurizio Sarri's squad only brought 22 players from the 25 rations given.

This season, Juventus are in the relatively mild Group D. Besides them, there is also Bayer Leverkusen, Lokomotiv Moscow, and also one of his archenemies in the Champions League, Atletico Madrid.

Juventus and Atletico Madrid were brought together in the last 16 of the Champions League last season. The club nicknamed the Bianconeri almost failed to advance to the quarter-finals because it had lost 0-2 in the first leg. Luckily, Cristiano Ronaldo's hat trick changed things.

The two giant teams were also immediately met at the inaugural match of Group D which was held on 19 September. The first party was held at Los Rojiblancos headquarters, Wanda Metropolitano.

Juventus experienced a dilemma in the selection of players who will be registered in the Champions League this time. Because, they failed to streamline the squad that was fat after the addition of eight new players.

Mario Mandzukic and Emre Can became the victims. Both players will certainly not appear in the Champions League this season. However, they could still be included if Juventus wanted to make changes in the knockout phase.

The captain, Giorgio Chiellini, was also not included in the squad. The 34-year-old defender was recently plagued by a severe injury which forced him to pull over for six months.

All new players are also included by Maurizio Sarri in the squad, including Gianluigi Buffon who has just been repatriated from PSG. While Mattia Perin and Marko Pjaca were also not registered.
