With Mental Owned, Mason Mount Candidate for Chelsea's Top Player

Ashley Cole is optimistic that Mason Mount will be Chelsea's best player. With a strong mentality and the presence of Frank Lampard, Mount was just waiting to shine.

Mount and Lampard have had the opportunity to work together while they were still in Derby County last season. The two men then returned to work together when Lampard was appointed as director of Chelsea by returning Mount Derby County.

That decision was Lampard's best decision to debut as manager of the Blues. As a starter in four Premier League matches, Mount can agree with a two-goal advantage each at Leicester and Norwich City.

Praise also flowed, one of which came from Cole. Cole, who played for Derby last season, saw Mount having great potential at the age of 20. "Obviously, I had the honor of playing with him [Mount] in Derby last season, and for me he is the key player and the best player we have," Cole said to Metro.

"It's clear he is getting older and growing since I saw him with Chelsea U-9, now everything is in his hands."

Cole also believes that Mount must be able to grow quickly under Lampard's supervision. The man who also played for Chelsea understood that Mount could be a star player with the mentality he currently has.

"This is a player who always arrives early in training, he gives 100%, and for me, that's what is needed to be a player."
