MU Release Matteo Darmian to Parma
Manchester United let go of a player ahead of the closing of the European transfer market. Italian right-back Matteo Darmian has now officially joined Parma.
Darmian transfer agreement reportedly has been established since Saturday (9/31/2019), although it was only announced today (2/9). The 29-year-old footballer was redeemed by Parma for only 1.5 million euros (Rp. 23.3 billion).
Darmian went through a medical test with the Gialloblu at the end of last week, before officially signing a four-year contract. Thus was reported by Italian Football.
"Parma Calcio is pleased to announce the permanent recruitment of Matteo Darmian from Manchester United," reads a statement on the official Parma website.
Darmian has strengthened MU for four years since being brought in from Torino in 2015. He appeared in 92 matches and helped the Red Devils win an FA Cup and Europa League championship medal.
However, Darmian became a surplus on the right side of the MU defense after bringing Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Because the Red Devils also still have a young defender Diogo Dalot who is plotted as a coating.
"Manchester United can ensure that defender Matteo Darmian has joined Italian club Parma. Everyone at Manchester United would like to thank him for his services and wish him all the best in the future," MU wrote on his official website.
