Valencia Fire Trainer
Valencia - Valencia fired his coach, Marcelino. Disputes with club owners, Peter Lim, will be the cause.
"Valencia told Marcelino Garcia Toral on Wednesday that he is no longer the first team coach," Valencia said in a statement issued by ESPN FC.
"The club would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication when you work with us and wish it success for the future."
Local media reported that Marcelino had a dispute with Peter Lim. The former Villarreal coach is not satisfied with the club's transfer policy.
Disputes will be resolved. However, after getting just four points in the first three league matches of Spain, Valencia decided to withdraw Marcelino.
Marcelino was appointed as Valencia coach in May 2017. Last season, he led Los Che to win the Copa del Rey by beating Barcelona in the final and ending in the Champions League zone.
To replace Marcelino, Valencia has appointed Albert Celades, a former U-21 coach. He was employed until June 30, 2021.
