Mkhitaryan is no longer happy at Arsenal
Rome - Henrikh Mkhitaryan revealed the reason he left Arsenal. Mkhitaryan felt he had to leave because he wanted to feel the pleasure of playing football again.
Mkhitaryan joined Arsenal from Manchester United in January 2018. But the Armenian international midfielder only scored eight goals in 39 matches in the English League.
In the summer of 2019, Mkhitaryan moved to Italy. He joined AS Roma on loan.
Mkhitaryan claims he is no longer happy in England. As a result, he received an offer from Rome to rediscover his pleasure on the ground.
"I have to like playing football anywhere, in England I don't feel happy anymore," Mkhitaryan said.
"I got a call from an agent and I want to come because this is a great opportunity for me, I don't even talk about money with an agent, maybe I'm not really suitable for English football, so I think the change is good."
Not satisfied with Arsenal, Mkhitaryan also agreed to settle in Rome. The 30-year-old footballer now wants to focus on new challenges in Italy.
"Last month I was unhappy at Arsenal, so I say it's better to go to Rome to be happy and have fun playing football," Mkhitaryan said.
"Now I am in Rome and I focus on them, it is not a step back, because football is an extraordinary sport, I want to change the atmosphere and this is an opportunity for me," he stressed.
After his departure, Mkhitaryan was officially introduced as a Roma player on Tuesday (9/10/2019). He then attended his first training with I Lupi after appearing with the Armenian national team.
