Losing Barcelona and Real Madrid, La Liga Against Super League Title

The Spanish League through its president, Javier Tebas, has expressed its disagreement with plans for a large competition between the blue continent club entitled the European Super League.

In November 2018, Football Leaks called on a number of European giants, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, to hold a secret conference to form a new league.

This league will contain the best European clubs and is called the European Super League. This contest should start in 2021.

Rejection of Javier Tebas

La Liga, now one of the best leagues in the world, might lose its two main teams, Barcelona and Real, if the European Super League is competed. Tebas also opposed this idea.

"We are totally against [the European Super League], the format is different from the Champions League and will make the competition completely closed - the format will kill the competition," Tebas told Channel 11.

"From an economic point of view, big clubs will only benefit when we try to promote [fairer] competitiveness," he added.

World's Best Premier League

In addition, Javier Tebas also admitted that the English Premier League is still the best league in the world so far, above La Liga.

"The Premier League hasn't had a Golden Ball winner for years, but it's still the best league in the world - this is great work on many levels," Tebas said.

Over the past decade, Ballon d'Or winners have come from La Liga clubs. But the Premier League has the opportunity to end the 2019 edition score along with Liverpool's success as Champions League champions.
