Laporte Injury, Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola must turn his brain after the injury of Aymeric Laporte. Guardiola revealed, City could not afford to buy a new center back again.
Laporte suffered a knee injury when City crushed Brighton 4-0 in the Premier League match last weekend. The French footballer was immediately taken to the hospital and predicted to be absent not for a moment.

Laporte's injury makes the Citizens center back stock thin because he has only John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi. Because the City did not buy a replacement for Vincent Kompany, who left last season
The Manchester Blue actually once tried to hook Harry Maguire from Leicester City. However, City were unable to rival Manchester United's offer so Maguire finally anchored at Old Trafford.

Guardiola said City had no financial means to hook up a new center back. As such, Guardiola is likely to install veteran midfielder Fernandinho as the second available center back.
"We cannot buy like our opponents," Guardiola said as reported by ESPNFC. "The club has worked very well in all departments and sometimes we are not as capable as other teams and that is it."

"We've paid a lot of players, that's why we have a deep squad of good quality but we can't, the club has told me, you have a limit, you can't move forward."

"Maybe in the future, not now. I said OK, you can't buy a new defender so we won't do it so we will go with what we have," said the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach.
