Injury crisis at Manchester United before entertaining Leicester
Manchester United faces an injury crisis before the match against Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday (14/9) this weekend.
Five Red Devils stars have doubts about their physical condition, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Paul Pogba. The condition of Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard also caused concern. This has been stated by the mirror, as reported by Metro.
MU's new right-back, Wan-Bissaka, has been a key player for coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the start of the 2019/20 season so far. But he was forced to retire from the England squad because of an injury.
The 21-year-old has back problems and teammate Jesse Lingard was also sent home by the England national team.
Because of illness, Lingard had to be absent from the Three Lions in international matches against Bulgaria and Kosovo. While Shaw struggled to recover from a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba pulled out of the French team because of an ankle injury. Martial then missed Manchester United's final match against Southampton after injuring himself in the defeat against Crystal Palace last month.
The Red Devils will welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford in the first match after this month's international break. The Solskjaer team continued their first win since early August.
Solskjaer is under pressure to record positive results after a 4-0 win over Chelsea in the opening match of the Premier League this season.
Enthusiasm for the new season quickly faded as the Red Devils continued their convincing draw against Wolves before winning their first home defeat of the season in a match against Crystal Palace.
Leicester City are one of only three Premier League teams to be beaten this season. While Manchester United languished in 8th position in the league standings after four matches.
Bekat's victory in the first four matches, The Foxes is now ranked third with eight points, only two points behind the second ranked team, which is also the defending champion, Manchester City, and four points behind leaders Liverpool, who posted 12 points.
