Claiming to be Unhappy at Real Madrid, Gareth Bale Maybe Forgotten Pretends

Defending the Wales national team and despite pressure from the Spanish media, Gareth Bale decided to voice his heart at Real Madrid. Bale presents his own version of speculation that has taken place in recent months.

In short, Bale felt treated unfairly and blamed for the disastrous Madrid 2018/19 season. Quoting Marca, he felt the treatment was unfair and claimed to be "unhappy playing in Madrid," but still playing as a professional.

Apparently, Bale had forgotten that last season he did not really help Madrid. Bale only scored a few goals and felt unworthy.

According to Marca, Bale's comments were as if he had forgotten the number of matches he missed last season because of a recurring injury. He also did not mention his poor performances in some of Madrid's big matches.

When Madrid appeared under-performing and needed a star player to lead the team, Bale disappeared. Madrid was helped by Vinicius Junior who was still 18 years old at the time.

Also, what cannot be forgotten is one occasion when Bale refused to go home with the Madrid squad bus after one of the away games. He was also tight-lipped about his decision to play golf when his team-mates played a preseason match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The most fatal, Bale did not say anything about the comments of his agent, Jonathan Barnett who attacked Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane obviously has good reason to push Bale away this summer. Actually, Bale's departure could have happened faster. He once threatened to leave Madrid because he only became a reserve player in the Champions League final in Kiev.

However, at that time, Zidane's resignation and the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo made Bale happy. So he withdrew the threat - which turned out to be a problem.

True, Bale has always been the center of criticism. He also demanded to perform better than other Madrid players. However, this is natural for the player with the third highest salary in the squad who is expected to be the leader after Cristiano's departure.

Bale had an extraordinary opportunity last season. He is expected to continue in the footsteps of Ronaldo, a role he seems to have wanted long - or at least what his agent Jonathan Barnett has made clear in the past five years: Bale will win the Ballon d'Or.

Bale faces huge demands from clubs and fans, just like the superstar who played for Real Madrid. Unfortunately, until now, Bale has not even answered half the demands.

Yes, he can score in the Champions League final and in the Copa del Rey final. Only that, Madrid fans have not seen Bale's contribution consistently.

Now, in the 2019/20 season, Bale starts a journey to prove himself. Madrid have obviously tried to release it in the transfer market this summer, he was just lucky because of the very high prices.
