Twitwar! The two legendary British bombers touched each other on social networks

Alan Shearer and Michael Owen, two British legends, were recently seen making stories on social media. Both characters also allude to his work at the same club, Newcastle United.

Owen defended the club nicknamed the Magpies from 2009 to 2012. That was when he returned to England after a dark season with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Newcastle itself is not a club that raised the name of Owen as a quality striker in his day. This club is Liverpool, who will help Owen win the Ballon d'Or in 2001.

On the other hand, Shearer has a large debt of gratitude to Newcastle. He spent 10 years at the club with a record 148 goals in 303 appearances in all competitions.

The two characters seem to overlap recently on social media. It all started when Owen filed his lawsuit to defend Newcastle in his latest book 'Reboot'.

"My move to Newcastle is one of those that I deeply regret, I should have followed my instincts from the start, I didn't want to go in. My heart always wants to go back to Liverpool," Owen said in the book, quoted by Goal. .

These words were later highlighted by Shearer on social media Twitter recently. He was referring to the high salary paid to him and felt that Newcastle had also mistakenly recruited him.
