The Rome Derby is like the national anthem
Roma - Roma Derby goes wild even if it ends without a winner. Lazio vs AS Roma duel has even been regarded as the national anthem of football fans.
This was revealed by Roma coach Paulo Fonseca. Although his team failed to maintain excellence at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Sunday (01/09/2019), the night local time, he did not regret the draw.
Fonseca, who coached Roma this season, was entertained by the match. In addition, there are five throws that the ball hit the goalpost.
"This is a spectacular derby in Rome, our coaches still lost a few years of their lives during matches like this, but it is the national anthem of sports fans," Fonseca was quoted as saying by Italian football.
Four of the five shots that hit the post were made by Lazio. Roma only had one shot which hit the post with Nicolo Zaniolo's feet.
Overall, Lazio threatened the Roma defense. There were 23 shots including seven aimed at goal. Roma only has 11 shots and three are framed.
"These two teams have created so many opportunities to score goals and it is a good show for fans and also neutral, that's right, sometimes we have to stay a little further than we want, when Lazio creates the remaining problems," said Fonseca.
