Revealed, Messi Didn't Ask Barcelona to Bring Neymar

Saga transfer about moving Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Barcelona had become a hot talk. However, it was recently revealed that Barcelona's mega star Lionel Messi did not ask his club to bring Neymar.

This was revealed by Barcelona boss, Josep Maria Bartomeu. Bartomeu openly spoke that neither he nor the council in Barcelona received a request from La Pulga regarding Neymar's transfer from PSG to Barcelona.

"He did not ask me to sign Neymar," Bartomeu was quoted as saying from an interview on Barca TV.

However, Bartomeu also did not deny that bringing Neymar was an advantage for his club. Apart from the market side, Neymar also called him a quality player.

"That (bringing Neymar, red) is an opportunity in the market because he is a great player, and the board agreed to see what we can do to bring it back," he said again.

Failing to bring Neymar doesn't mean Barcelona's dressing room is getting hot. Even when Antoine Griezmann joined the Blaugrana, Bartomeu claimed that there was absolutely no rejection from other Barcelona players. He also asserted that the players had absolutely no voting rights regarding the club's transfer policy.

"The dressing room (the players, red) do not have the right to transfer, and they also do not veto Griezmann," concluded Bartomeu.

Previously, Bartomeu had also been open about the transfer saga of the former Santos player. According to him, Barcelona has tried every means so that the agile player can return to defend Barcelona.

"We did everything possible to sign Neymar. We do not offer certain players instead. We did talk about the exchange but all names were given by PSG, "Bartomeu said.
