Norwich vs Manchester City: defending champions go down 2-3
Norwich - Manchester City travel to Norwich City headquarters. The defending champion loses 2-3 against the promotion team.
Duel Norwich - Manchester City during the fifth week of the English League was held at Carrow Road, Saturday (09/14/2019), evening City late 1-2 on the first lap.
Norwich were previously two by Kenny McLean and Todd Cantwell. City then reduce the distance with Sergio Aguero.
Teemu Pukki added Norwich's lead early in the second period. City have approached Rodri's goal, but have not been able to add a goal to save himself from defeat.
The defeat did not change City's position in second place in the Premier League standings with 10 points in five matches. But Pep Guardiola's landing squad is now five points behind Liverpool. Meanwhile, Norwich climbed to 12th place with six points.
The game
The game is open from the first minute. The two teams took turns to attack, while there was no chance in goal until the match ended in 15 minutes.
Norwich then took the lead in the 18th minute. Kenny McLean escaped from City defender guard to attack the ball and dropped Ederson's goal.
The city is trying to react immediately. Raheem Sterling opened fire outside the penalty area, but did not reach Norwich's goal.
After conceding, City continued to dominate the match. The attack once again builds the visitors. Sterling raised the ball to the far post and Sergio Aguero saluted him with his head. Aguero's efforts have not yet reached the goal.
City then conceded in the 28th minute. Norwich launched an effective counterattack to double the advantage.
Marco Stiepermann launches a revolutionary pass to Teemu Pukki who then takes the ball into the penalty box. Pukki then passes to Todd Cantwell who easily kicks the ball in an empty net.
City almost missed the target in the 31st minute. The David Silva Center is directed by Bernardo Silva to Sterling. Sterling gore the ball, but still hit the goalpost.
City efforts to score a goal finally paid off in the 45th minute. Bernardo Silva's center from the left was completed perfectly by Aguero with a header.
The second round match lasted four minutes and Norwich almost added a goal. John Stones lost the ball when he was under pressure after receiving the ball Otamendi and Norwich immediately attacked.
Buendia drops the ball by Pukki who attacks from the left. Pukki tries to open fire in the lower right corner of the goal, but is still wide.
Errors of the underdeveloped city finally paid off for Norwich. Buendia wins the ball from Otamendi in the City defense zone and immediately passes it to Pukki, who is in front of the goal. Pukki easily passed City's goal to increase his Norwich advantage.
City that continues to dominate the game repeatedly gets a corner. But nothing carries a goal. Kevin De Bruyne's corner was extended by Otamendi, but the ball still led to the Krul team.
Sterling belly primary is led by Aguero in front of goal. This effort gave no goal because the ball bounced off the crossbar.
City attack on Norwich defense meeting. Krul defeated City's chances by slipping Otamendi's header from the far post.
City purified in the 88th minute. Rodri fired horizontally from outside the penalty area that led to the bottom left corner of the Norwich goal without being able to be reached by Krul.
Rodri's goal made City increasingly impatient to attack. Aguero hit the ball in the penalty area and fired on goal. The ball can still be secured by Krul.
Attack after attack is continuously launched by City. But the shots shot by Aguero and Jesus did not disturb Krul. Score 2-3 for Norwich's advantage until the end of the match.
