Mkhitaryan Admits Unhappy Playing in England
Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan admitted he was not happy playing in England with Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan began his career in England in 2016. At that time he was brought in by Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund.
In January 2018, he was released by MU to Arsenal. He became part of Alexis Sanchez's exchange for Old Trafford.
Mkhitaryan actually showed a promising start at Arsenal. There he scored three assists at once during his debut with the Gunners against Everton.
But in the end he had trouble showing his best performance for the Gunners. This made Unai Emery release him to AS Roma in the summer of 2019 yesterday.
Mkhitarnya released by Arsenal on loan for a full season in Rome. Emery himself regards it as a surplus in his squad, after this season bringing in players like Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos.
Serie A is considered still below the level of the Premier League. However Mkhitaryan did not consider the move as a decline in his career.
"Now I'm in Rome and I'm focused on them," Mkhitaryan stressed as reported by Goal International.
"This is not a step back because great football is played here. "I want to change the scenery and for me this is an opportunity to grab," he stressed again.
The 30-year-old player then revealed the reasons for not being able to perform neatly in England, especially with Arsenal. He claimed he did not feel happy in the country of Queen Elizabeth.
"I have to enjoy playing football. Regardless of the place, "he said.
"I no longer feel happy. Maybe I am not suitable with English football," said Mkhitaryan.
So far Henrikh Mkhitaryan has not been played on the Serie A stage by AS Roma. But before with Arsenal, he had played three times.
