Sad news comes from Luis Enrique. The former Spain national team coach lost his daughter, Xana, who died of bone cancer.

Enrique announced this through his Twitter account. Spain also thanked those who sought to help the recovery of her 9-year-old son.

"Our daughter Xana died this afternoon at the age of nine after struggling for five months against osteosarcoma," Enrique wrote on his Twitter account.

"We thank you for all the love we have received over the past few months and also for your wisdom and understanding."

"We also thank Sant Joan de Deu and Sant Pau hospital staff for their dedication to the care they have provided. To the doctors, nurses and all volunteers, especially the Sant Joan de Deu hospice team, we thank you.

"We will miss you a lot, but we will remember you every day of our lives, we hope to see you again in the future, you will be a star who will guide our family.

"Rest, Xanita."

Condolences to Enrique then passed on to social media by his former children. Barcelona also does the same thing.

"There are no words that can cheer you up in these difficult times, boss, but from here we send you all the power and love of the world, and let Xana rest in peace," wrote Alvaro Morata on Twitter.

Real Madrid and Spain defender Nacho Fernandez said: "All the courage, strength and support the world has today for your boss."

"Our condolences and all our condolences to Luis Enrique and his family at this very difficult time, RIP Xana," Barcelona said.

News of Xana's death also revealed a personal reason why Enrique left the Spanish national team last June. The 49-year-old coach put his position after 11 months by training La Furia Roja.

Before retiring, he also missed three matches with Sergio Ramos et al. Enrique's position is now replaced by Roberto Moreno.
