From the Pub to Called to the England national team

Manager Gareth Southgate made a breakthrough by calling Tyrone Mings to the England national team. Mings is the first player to join the Three Lions team. Southgate prepares this Aston Villa defender for the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers during England against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Mings said getting a call to join the England national team was a moment that was hard to forget. "His feelings are truly extraordinary. I am happy to be able to share happiness with teammates when I get that information," he quoted ESPN.

In the eyes of the 26-year-old England national team is another world. Because Mings did not expect to defend the England national team. "I never thought, when I was still an employee in the credit department, playing in the national team is one of life's goals," he said.

Mings's career as a footballer is somewhat unique. He didn't start at the junior level like most players on the national team. The first club he visited was not in the main caste of English football.

He played part-time at a non-league club, Chippenham in 2012. His professional match started at Ipswich. From there, slowly the ability to process the round skin began to get the spotlight. Mings then moved to Bournemouth and played for five seasons. Throughout the five seasons he was only given the opportunity to play 17 times.

Now the player with 196 cm height defends Aston Villa. Together with his new club, Mings has been trusted to play four times since the 2019/2020 English League season. His total appearance in the Premier League has only touched 21 matches.
